Wet Feet and Wet Brains

Sometimes I think my kids have an inability to think in the mornings. (Wonder who they get it from?) This morning I was in the shower and Seth came in to use the bathroom. He says, "Oh, I got my feet wet!!" I guess the floor was wet from Jessie's shower. So I told him to ask Daddy for some clean socks. He used the potty, went out of the bathroom and not 5 minutes later, came back to the door, and said, "are you finished yet?" and I said, "almost". He came in again! and goes, "Oh, I got my feet wet again!" I was shrilling, "Seth why didn't you put your shoes on?" He says, "I forgot." At the moment I was thinking, how could he forget that the floor was wet in 5 MINUTES? Then about 15 minutes later, I'm walking into the kitchen all dressed and ready to go, and I'm then thinking, "What did I come into the kitchen for, what do I need to get/do?" Then I realized I was looking for a blanket (I take one for Lily to cover up with in the car)...in the kitchen. I guess I need to cut us all some slack in the morning.

Yes, mornings can definitely be stressful. I do that same thing-what am I supposed to be doing? I hate it. I do have to admit that it makes me feel better to know someone your age does it too! The old aunt

Aww...lol, that's funny about Seth! I have a routine in the mornings and if I don't follow it, I get thrown off course and so confused. Also, if I don't get enough sleep (at least 8 hours!) I'm crazy too.

I hate when Seth gets thrown off course in his routine, too. He dawdles, and dawdles...and dawdles. So I knew with the 2 changes of socks, plus the going back to the bathroom a 2nd time, he was going to be running late. Sure enough, he was!! I feel bad constantly going, "Seth, get ready, Seth, hurry, Seth, Seth, Seth!" but he just sits there if I don't lol. Crazy kid!!
And Aunt Daphne, you're not old! Trust me, I'm as absent-minded as anyone, haha. You know where I got it from too! Your sister! The woman who puts mail in the freezer! Haha

Haha, don't feel bad. I do that all day long. I go into a room and think..what did I come in here for? Sometimes I still can't remember! :) That's funny. I can relate to your son. I am not a morning person. That's kinda what I do..It's like I'm in a daze for about the first hour or two I'm up!
