Sitting down for my first Thanksgiving dinner with Squanto
This is too funny not to share. Obviously, during Thanksgiving, Seth learned about the Pilgrims and Indians in school, and the first Thanksgiving. We've discussed it a little bit, but last night, it was apparantly on his mind again. He looks at me with the most serious face, and says,
"Mama, were you a Pilgrim?"
I sit there -caught in between shock and laughter- and say, "no!" And Jessie, trying to stifle his laughter says, "Seth, some of our relatives from a long time ago were Indians!" and at the same time Seth is asking me,
"Well were you an Indian?"
So Jessie and I are both cracking up at this point and he tries to explain to Seth again that it was a long time ago and I say it was "before any of us were ever born" but Seth insists, "but I was born" and I say "no baby, it was before any of us were born!" He finally understood I guess, but I couldn't get the image out of my head of me in a long brown dress sitting down at a wooden table with turkey and vegetables spread out before me. Haha!
Its amazing how little of a concept of time Seth has. He's getting better. If I say something will happen "in a few days" and show him on the calendar, he gets it. But he obviously -already- thinks I am Really Old!

How funny! At this age at least they still think you are smart. Then they grow up and start thinking that you don't know ANYTHING! Unfortunately, you do know more than they think, they just don't want to listen. Once Casey told Datwin that he was older than dirt (he was in his 30's). Aunt Daphne
That's too funny!
Ahhh...how great! He's still young and innocent and has no concept of time. Let him stay that way as long as possible before he starts having to rush around like us! LOL
that is too funny! So cute! I am picturing you as a pilgrim, only in the black dress and weird white and black hat thing LOL. i can see Jessie dressed like an Indian chief !!
