Date Night
We had an incredibly good time this Saturday. We began our date at about 3:00 p.m. or so. We went to the bowling alley first, but it was SO crowded, the lady at the desk said there were 2 birthday parties, a church group taking up 6 lanes and a tournament! So we left and wandered around, thought about going to a movie, but there were none starting for a couple of hours. So we went to Books-a-Million (one of our favorite stores!) and browsed around. At about 4:00 or so, I decided I was hungry, so we went to Applebees. Yum yum. It was incredibly delicious. Getting there so early, we didn't have to wait for a table (very nice) but by the time we left, a line had developed by the door. We left Applebees more than stuffed, and tried the bowling alley again. It was suprisingly a lot less crowded so we went in and amazingly, didn't have to wait for a lane! We bowled 3 games..I did horribly! Jessie beat me every time, haha, but only by a few points. We went and browsed around the mall after that. We bought Seth a couple of much-needed shirts (a nice date activity, huh?) because Penney's was having a pretty good sale. :) We left the mall, headed back to Amory and decided to rent a movie from Movie Gallery. We browsed that store for like an hour, and still hadn't agreed on anything! Finally, I spotted "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and Jessie agreed and we got it. Steve Carrell's face on the cover of that movie just kills me! He looks so hilarious. But...I did NOT like the movie. Upon arriving home, I noticed that we'd rented the "UNRATED" version. The language was beyond horrible. There were a few funny parts, like when Steve Carrell was trying to run away from a bus that had an ad for...something...but it had a huge picture of people about to become intimate (!) and it kept following him. haha Anyway, the language ruined it for me. It was sick, sick, sick. Jessie didn't like it either. :( Maybe if we'd seen the "rated" version it wouldn't have been so bad. Anyway, that was our date in a nutshell. It was a LOT of fun, we really enjoyed being together, and it was nice to have a kidless evening.
The funniest date moment of the evening:
At the bowling alley, we bowled beside a family with 2 sons (one named Jesse!) and the younger son, about 13, took his turn to bowl. I looked up, about to take my turn, and in the next lane, I saw the boy's bowling ball rolling BACK to him, up the lane!! It was SO funny, his dad goes, "I've never seen one come back before!!" I don't know how he managed that. haha
*Another funny moment occured when I threw the bowling ball so forcefully, my fingers almost got stuck and I almost rolled down the lane with it. :)

I'm glad you had a good time! I've almost gotten my fingers stuck and rolled down the lane ,too. I've also thrown the ball backwards a couple of times. That's pretty embarrassing! We had a great time at the concert Saturday night, too. The bank was really good. I believe you would have liked it. And Amber, too.-Aunt Daphne
I'm glad your date went really good. It sounds like you had a good time. I think me and David need a date night soon! Isn't it funny how you can't wait to get there to get away from your kids for a while and you think about them the whole time?...and buy them things! :) Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time!
Aunt Daphne, I'm glad you all had a good time at the concert. How did Noelle like it? Did she dance? haha
Kelly, the irony of that struck me too! You go on a date to have time away from the kids and end up talking about them and buying them stuff! Oh well, it'll probably always be like that! You should have date night! It was SO much fun and it really is nice to have some one-on-one time with your significant other.
I guess I am horrible, because I loved the 40 year old Virgin! It was very funny! I don't rememeber a lot of foul language (not much more than usual, anyways), I'm not sure which version I had. But I liked it! Especially the ending! and Now I know where you got the Age of Aquarius.......LOL!
For some reason, as soon as we decided to go, Noelle kept saying she didn't want to go see the band. I don't think she even knew what a band is. She said it all day and even walking up to the building. When they started playing, she started cying, and I asked her didn't she like the music? She said no, that she liked the Dancing Princesses. I told her that I liked the band so that we were going to listen to them that night and we would watch Dancing Princesses the next day. She said "okay" in this little tiny voice and smiled and after that she was okay. She clapped at every song and danced in her seat some. She especially liked "Do you love me? Do you love me -now that I can dance?" I don't know the name-but it was on Dirty Dancing (one of my favorite shows) and I love it too. She really got into that one. Such a precious baby! Aunt Daphne
Hahaha That is hilarious!!! She "likes the Dancing Princesses" haha that cracked me up. I'm glad she had a good time.
I'm usually the last to comment because it takes forever for it to show up here at the dumb library. Anyway, I'm glad you had a good weekend, and a good date! I love dates. Erick and I like to go places too, but it's usually just to eat some fish somewhere around here because going to Tupelo usually involves more money than we can spare! But it is nice to save up and go like y'all did sometimes :) And yuck about that movie! I can't stand to watch movies with such language and stuff.
Another comment I just thought of...David and I rented "Little Miss Sunshine" because I thought it would be a cute family movie. HA! The language was so bad that we just turned it off and took it back to Movie Gallery. So much for the cute family movie!
That's crazy, Jessie and I came close to renting that one. I should've guessed it was bad too. !!! Do they think a movie can't be good without all of that disgusting language? What makes them think that people want to hear that? I don't get it!!
Don't watch Hounddog or Zoo..I got an e-mail telling that Hounddog has a rape scene involving a 12 year old and Zoo has scenes of a man having 'relations' with a horse! SICK!
