Toy frenzy

I am so cold today and I cannot warm up!! I'm finally beginning to thaw out. It's such a yucky, rainy morning. Blah. Anyway, enough weather-bashing. This weekend was good. Lily had a really good party. Her cake was SO cute. Jessie's dad is supposed to give me a cd of pictures at some point of the party, so *maybe* I can actually post some soon! Yay! She got SO much stuff. Here are a few of the gifts she got: a baby Cabbage Patch doll, a cute little pink dress (Mom calls it a jumper, I call it a dress haha), a Capricorn Barbie, a Barbie with a hair streaker (!! Jessie hated that..it can streak the Barbie's hair 3 different colors and do people hair too! We tried it out yesterday, but Lily's hair's so dark you could barely see it! oh well), a backpack for the Barbies, and I'm probably boring you. She got two sleeping bags, haha, she's slept in them both already (in her bed).
She had $40 on a Walmart card, and being the kind of person that money burns a hole in my pocket, when we went grocery shopping yesterday, I let her use it. I probably should've told her to save part of it, but I guess my brain was muddled or something. My only requirements were that she get a pair of jeans (sorely needed) and that she get something she didn't already have (like marker sets she wanted and such things). Seth was at his grandmother's and Jessie was on the grocery side, so it was just Mama and Lily, set loose in Walmart with a $40 gift card! (haha) Well, she wanted about everything, of course, but what caught her eye was a Genivieve Barbie doll and she stuck to that decision like glue. Then we saw the Bella Dancerella ballet mat, barre and DVD set (yes Amber I let her get it, and yes, I agree, the songs are very annoying). You should see her doing the ballet though! It is so so cute. Anyway, then we got a pair of jeans and the money was spent. Wonderfully enough, everything except the jeans was on sale. All the toys were on sale. So now Lily's room looks like she could open a toy store, and she is having a ball. Seth is too (don't feel sorry for Seth, his room rivals Lily's) and don't think I'm the one that buys them enough toys to open up a toy store!! (Although I did contribute) Relatives say, and I quote, "I want to buy him/her "at least" one toy!!" So we just try to jump in there, encourage the kids to share and not to be selfish, and clean out their rooms every now and then to donate toys to the Salvation army among other things. What's sad is, as they get older, the "toys" get more expensive, so they better enjoy this while they can! :P

Isn't it funny how we think we have no room for more stuff in our houses and then Christmas or a birthday comes and it all just absorbs in somehow. At least that's how it is for me. LOL!

Oh, I know how it is to be overloaded with toys. We have toys running out everywhere!

I'm glad she had a good party...and got lots of good gifts! :)

I bought a Bella Dancerella Mat for Noelle, too, weeek-end before last. I agree it has annoying songs, and the way she moves her head really annoys me, but Noelle sure looks cute dancing. She has such a cute little concentrating look on her face. I'm glad that the party turned out good!-Aunt Daphne
