Waterlillyes

A slightly crazy 25 year old with a great husband and two wonderful kids. The only reason one would want to read my inner thoughts is complete boredom or unconditional love.

Do you have a good 45 minutes? Sit, have a nice cup of tea, and read about my terribly interesting day. :D

It's Winds-day!

Well, yesterday was Winds-day! It was windy at some points, anyway, and I kept thinking of "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" and the gopher who whishels when he talksh. "It's Windshday!"

I had the busiest day ever yesterday. At the end of the day I collapsed in exhaustion! Here, a play-by-play of my day for you! (Aren't you excited?)

8:00: Woken up by Lily. "Mama I'm hungry! Mama can I do my bannerina video? Mama, I want some milk." Face facts that I must drag myself out of bed.

8:30: I lay on the couch to "rest" my eyes. Lily talks incessantly, and repeatedly tells me to "Look!" and "wake up mama!"

9:00: Give up on resting my eyes.

9:30: Get Lily and I dressed and ready to go. Our plans for the day are to go to Aberdeen to pick Kim up, take her to the vet's office to pick up some meds for Mama Dog, go to Walmart and go to the library, then go pick Seth up from school to take him to the doctor.

10:15: Arrive at Kim's. Kim asks if we can go ahead and bring Mama Dog back to my house, because she's doing really badly...we thought she might pep up if she could roam around in my yard. So Kim coaxes her out from under the house and she pees three times before she gets to the truck. Kim and I hoist her up inside the bed of the truck and Becca (who's home sick) pulls her in the rest of the way while Kim and I go wash our hands.

10:20: Mama dog has thrown up and also left us a nice present in the bed of the truck, and is out of the truck peeing again when we go outside. Proceed to hoist her back in the truck and finally make our way back to my house to drop her off.

10:40: Back at my house, we drop Mama dog off, clean out the bed of the truck with the water hose, and Yay! we're finally on our way.

11:00: We all decide we're hungry so we decide to stop and eat. Kim wants to go to Hardee's so I pull into the Hardee's parking lot only to have Lily beg that we go to McDonald's to play on the playground. So back to McDonald's we go.

11:20 We're happily eating, outside as Lily requested, but the wind is blowing our food and us and our napkins everywhere. I repeatedly tell Lily to "Please hurry and eat!" and she continues to eat at a snail's pace so we shiver and try to batten down the hatches (our napkins, that is.) She finally finishes and plays on the playground a few minutes, and we leave...I'm trying to watch the time because I want to pick Seth up by 2:00 to take him to the doctor (if you were wondering how I knew all the exact times...I'm not usually this much of a clock-watcher!)

11:40: We go to the vet's, but the vet says there's no point in giving Mama Dog antibiotics since she's throwing up. She suggests Kim buy some Pepto instead and tells her to bring her in Friday. So we make our merry way to the library and I almost get us hit by a man riding a motorcycle (he came out of nowhere, I swear!).

12:00 (I think): At the library! Lily wants to play the computers, play with the puppets, read the pop-up books, anything to deviate from my strict schedule of checking out 2 books and movies! haha We pick out a couple of books and movies (she picked 12 Dancing Princesses - Jessie was thrilled when I showed it to him later) and then the library's circulation goes down! We have to wait a while, but finally they just write everything down and we speed off to Walmart. Well, not speed (Mom that's not what I meant). Rather, we safely and briskly drove to Walmart.

12:30: I drop off some meds I need to get filled at the pharmacy and Lily and I accompany Kim to the make-up section. If you see me on a day-to-day basis, you know I am a person who NEVER wears make-up. But lately, with my allergies making my face all red all the time, I decided it was time to take the plunge. So Kim, Lily and I deeply assessed which brands we wanted (the cheapest) and whether the Pink Blush 32b lipstick or the Wild Rose 36b would look best on me. (We went with the Wild Rose). I felt like a regular girl for a minute there! haha

1:00: Back to Kim's in Aberdeen. We stop at Sonic to pick Becca up some lunch and marvel at how much one cheeseburger and two cream slushes sets Kim back.

1:30: I'm off to Hatley to get Seth...right on time, much to my delight and suprise.

2:00: Destination reached. A tired Mama and a chattering Lily make our way to the elementary office and collect our precious cargo. Seth and Lily chatter like monkeys.

2:35: Hubbard Clinic, Verona. Much to my delight, there is only one car in the parking lot! Oh yes, there's NO ONE in the waiting room! We get called back immeadiately, Seth coughs continuously and Lily rides around the room on the wheeled doctor's stool. Seth hides behind the table so the doctor won't see him. By the time the doctor comes in, he's come out of hiding. :) Doctor tells me that Seth's coughing is due to sinuses and allergies, no antibiotics needed (Yay!) He prescribes some cough medicine. I supress the urge to tell him about Jessie's temporary insanity (throwing all the cough medicine away) and accept the prescription with a thankful smile.

3:00: Head to Dollar General for who-knows-why. Spend about 30 minutes in the flip-flop aisle with Seth and Lily. Jessie is supposed to meet us there but is nowhere to be found. I exclaim "Where is your Daddy?" Turns out he's spying on us from the other aisle. Weirdo! We buy flowery flip-flops for Lily, a Spiderman shirt for Seth and then go out to get drinks from the vending machine. Lily begins drinking her second root beer of the day and starts burping again. Seth wisely chooses water and makes me proud. :)

3:30: We part ways. Lily and I go to the library to see Nana, and Seth and Jessie go to GameStop (or is it GameZone? Anyway...) Lily finally gets to play games on the computer and is blissfully happy. Everyone tells me that they like the way I've braided (or "plaited") her hair and I am proud once again. Nana and I have a nice chat and I marvel about pictures above the computers in which there is a cat reading a book with a library card lying beside it. Interesting.

4:00: Ballard Park! Its a little breezy, but still a beautiful day. We all meet back up (but park on different sides.) They play on the playground a while, then we walk to look at the ducks. This extremely nice family shares their bag of bread with us and we give the fish and ducks a little feast. Walk around the pond and see Isla (Laura and Kelly are friends with her) and her adorable baby son Jake. I coo over Jake and we talk about how we both wish we had baby leashes to keep our kids from running away (!!) as Jake grins and tries to make his way to the water (he's such a cutie-pie!). We part ways and go to the other playground; the kids swing, play, then Lily "HAS TO GO TO THE BATHROOM! REALLY BAD!" I make an attempt to make her bathroom trip a little more sanitary by placing lots of toilet paper on the seat for her to sit on...when I should've heeded her cries of "I have to go really bad!!" Needless to say, she didn't completely make it to the potty. Uh-oh. I stick my head out the door and tell Jessie the bad news. I consider our options and since we are really hungry and want to go grab a bit to eat, I suggest going to Walmart to pick up my contacts and Lily a pair of pants and underwear. We can also get Seth's medicine filled there. Brilliant.

5:00: Yay, Walmart again. I'm beginning to drag. I wait about 20 for my contacts, then Jessie informs me it'll be 30-35 minutes before his meds are filled. Augh!

To make an already long story short (ha a little late for that, isn't it?) we went to eat after Wal-mart, and didn't make it home until about 8:40, where I had to give Lily a bath, wash clothes and do a myriad of other millions of things! So at about 10:30, I collapsed. And slept. And here I am today! Still alive! It just seemed like I never stopped yesterday! I'm wearing my make-up today, but I think I've rubbed it all off because my nose has been itching ferociously!

It sounds like you had a very busy day! I hope Seth's cough syrup works. I have that same thing - my throat tickles from allergies and it makes me cough. It's very annoying. Have a nice day! Love, Aunt Daphne

That was hilarious - from beginning to end. And it's so typical of a day with children. (And I'm very glad you didn't speed to Walmart)

Sounds quite tiring to me... but nice :) Too bad Lily had an accident! It was YOUR fault! LOL! J/k! (or am i?) I hate waiting in the dr's office for the doctor to come in.. Noelle always gets so bored and she pushes the stool all over the room too! She wants to get into everything! Particularly, play with the latex gloves. I love Ballard park.. It's cool, with all the ducks. Are there still swarms and swarms of them? I need to take Noelle there soon, since the weather's getting better. The park here is awful, but I've told you about the Heathens before! LOL

Most of it was fun (minus the parts with Mama Dog and the second trip to Walmart). It was just exhausting! I'd give anything for a fraction of the energy that Seth and Lily had!

That's just gross about the dog! I'm so glad I don't have a pet!

I enjoyed the visit with you and Lily. And she did look so cute with her hair plaited. Also, it's funny that you said she talked so much all day, but she wouldn't hardly say a word at the library.

I know, she acts so strange sometimes! She pretends to be shy for some reason. It was nice to see you. I still say we should all get together and eat or something soon...go to the park or something. Why are you avoiding me? haha
Yes Amber, there are still plenty of ducks at Ballard Park. I love that park too. I told Jessie I wished we lived across the street from it or something so we could walk around the pond every day. I'm glad we don't live next to the Heathen park though!
