I love this song!
Mansion over the Hilltop
(Words & music by Ira Stamphill)
I'm satisfied with just a cottage below
A little silver and a little gold
But in that city where the ransomed will shine
I want a gold one that's silver lined
I’ve got a mansion
just over the hilltop
In that bright land
where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder
we will never more wander
But walk on streets
that are purest gold
Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely
I'm not discouraged, I’m heaven bound
I'm but a pilgrim in search of the city
I want a mansion, a harp and a crown
I’ve got a mansion
just over the hilltop
In that bright land
where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder
we will never more wander
But walk on streets
that are purest gold

The choir at my church sang that during the morning sermon yesterday. I LOVE that song! I love the words and the music and just the gospel-y sound of the song. Since there were only five of us singing in the choir yesterday it felt like we were a little harmonizing gospel group (haha)...it was really great fun to sing though. And those words...don't they make you feel excited?

I haven't ever heard that song, but it does have nice words. It is a wonderful thing to think about. Have you read the book "90 Minutes in Heaven"? His description of Heaven makes you excited. Love, Aunt Daphne
We sing that song a lot at our church, I've loved it since I was little! :)
