No phone, no phone, I just want to be alone today...

Those are lyrics from a song by Cake. "No Phone"...which is what I have today. No phone. :(
I rushed to get to Cingular last night after work, because, as you know, I need a new phone. My plan was...to keep my old plan and pay the $50 or something dollars which is required when you have insurance...to get a new phone. So...I ask if I can keep my old plan. She says "Oh we have a better one!" I say "great!" and it does sound better. (I'm happy but shocked.) She smugly laughs at my phone because it is so old and we ask what kind I can get...she says (still smugly) "you're due for an upgrade"...(smug look at phone)..."Anything we have will be an upgrade from this."

Ok! I get it already! I think. So, in the middle of all this, Seth and Lily have to go to the bathroom really bad, so I usher them to the bathroom and go back to Jessie and the saleslady. She's telling us that there will be an $18 activation fee...blah blah blah....that's all you have to pay....discount....$139.00....
Hang on! we say. What about insurance? I say. She nods, seemingly not understanding.
I SHOULD have insurance, I say. She looks at the bill pulled up on the computer. "It's not showing that you have insurance."
WHAT???????
"Have you noticed a change in your bill?" she asks.
"No, it's been around the same price each month."
"Well," she says offhandedly, still looking smugly at the phone, "I think we canceled the insurance on these phones a while back."
Sigh.
I left. I was SO frustrated. Plus, it was time for them to close. HOW can they cancel someone's insurance and not tell them? Jessie's dad said they probably put a little slip of paper in with the bill that never got looked at.
So, the phones are in my mom's name, so she's calling them today to see what's up with the insurance and such.
I just want a phone!!! :(
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enough of the phone saga. Kim called me a few minutes ago telling me that Katy (my niece) is going to pick out a prom dress (jr. prom) tomorrow! Awww! And she wants us all to go with her. So, if Jessie doesn't mind being left to cartoons and video games again tomorrow morning, I guess I will be going shopping again! Not for me though. (gotta save every last penny for a new phone, I suppose). Its so sweet...I hardly ever get to see Katy...and she asked if we could come with her to shop for her dress. I might cry when she's trying them on!

Oh and I forgot to mention this yesterday! Seth lost another tooth. And I actually didn't lose it this time! It's his third one to lose...the first time I misplaced the tooth, the second time, I think he swallowed the tooth, but this time he was brushing his teeth and he spit it out and caught it! Its so little! He got .50 for it...which he plans to spend ASAP, I think. There was already another one growing in behind it. And now his second top tooth is loose! He'll be toothless, or have a bunch of half-teeth for a while, I guess. haha

That's crazy about the phone. They do everything they can to get all the money out of you they can! Maybe you can find something good soon.

Hey... Depending on where you go, the Cingular people say different things! That place might have been a franchise.. Call Cingular directly at 866Cingular. You should have insurance.. That's stupid! Casey's phone was only $50 but has a mail in rebate so she will get all her money back... She only has to pay a $36 activation fee. That woman sounded like a big meanie... A phone snob! Ha ha! Don't go back to them.. Try walmart. They usually have better deals (like the ones online). Love ya

How sweet! Did the tooth fairy give him money when he swallowed the tooth?? Ack! I'm so glad he didn't choke.. When I was that age- that was my worst fear.. Choking on my teeth! I was scared of loose teeth! i've just been a ball of anxiety my whole life I guess! I'm weird, I know.. That's sweet that Katy wants you all to go with her shopping! How sweet! How fun! Awww! I wanna go! What a special day! :D

Yes I'm definitely going somewhere different! Its like my mom said, "they do whatever they want", and they do! So, hopefully there is some nice Cingular salesperson somewhere in the state of MS that will be more helpful!

Yes, Seth got money from the TF each time...this time the TF actually got a tooth for her money! haha
And I'm only guessing he swallowed that one. He lost it at school, but he never noticed it falling out...so he either swallowed it or it got thrown away with his lunch tray stuck in an apple or something!

I totally missed the part about Seth losing the tooth the first time I read the blog entry. Then when I read that comment I was so confused! But I went back and read it. Anyway, does the tooth fairy save the teeth or throw them away? I thought about saving Olivia and Madison's. But that might be weird. I dunno. But if I did what would be the point? What would I do with them? LOL

haha I'm sorry Kelly. You didn't miss it, I went back and added it a few minutes later.
We didn't have a chance to save the first few teeth, but I kept this one...maybe I'll only keep one for his baby book or something, I don't know. They're so so small and cute! Maybe I'll just keep one so he can see how small they used to be. (after he grows out of the belief in the TF that is.) :)

I was the worst tooth fairy in the world. I always either meant to wake up after my children went to sleep or thought I would put the money there before they woke up the next morning. Unfortunately, that rarely happened. In the mornings it never crossed my mind until the poor things would wake up and look under their pillow. I usually would tell them that the fairy was probably so busy the night before that she just didn't have time that night, but that she would come the next night. Sometimes I would forget again! And I did keep alot of my children's teeth, but I am ashamed to say that I really don't know which teeth belong to which child.

I can't believe that Katy is going to the prom! Even the Jr. Prom! She has grown up before I am ready! I see her so rarely that I don't even know her! It's sad!!
Carrie and I are going shopping for her prom dress tomorrow, too.

haha I'm sure I'll get teeth mixed up too when Lily started losing them.
Well, we wake up Seth every night to go to the potty (so we don't have accidents) so while he went, I rushed in the living room and grabbed the quarters and rushed back, stuck them in his little pillow, then ran and stuck the tooth in a jewelry box in my room to hide it, where it still is today. I just made it...and then he didn't even look the next morning! When I got home I asked him if he'd checked and he said, "no" but made no move to go check it. Lily went and got the money and brought it to him! haha he was real interested in it, wasn't he?

You and Carrie have fun! too bad we can't all go together. That might be hard though haha
I can't believe Katy is old enough to go hunting for a prom dress either. It blows my mind.
