A good long peek at my weekend
Monday, Monday...
It's here again. And I'm as sleepy as usual. I just don't do Monday's (or mornings) very well.
The weekend was really great though. I love it when they are so fun you don't want them to end, but its always so sad when they do!
Friday night, we met at the park after I got off of work (Yes, we spend alot of time at the park lately) and the kids played, and I rode my bike and Jessie suprised me by bringing a suppertime picnic! It was so nice...after it got dark, we had a picnic under the stars. Seth started pointing out what he thought might be planets, and we tried to guess which ones they might be. Then we were playing and racing each other and I thought, "sigh, it doesn't get much better than this"...
Then everything went black.
Apparantly, they shut the lights off at the park at 8:00, so we decided it was time to go home. It was very dark out there. But we had our fun.
Saturday morning, Kim, Zora and Becca picked Lily and I up and we all went yard-sale-ing. (? that looks funny) Here is another of my favorite pasttimes...I LOVE going to yard sales. We ended up going to Columbus and we went to a bunch of different yard sales...of course, Lily wanted everything...here's what the kids ended up with (but come on, they were good deals):
a scooter ( for her and Seth)- $3
a crazy necklace (which Kim described as African)- .50
a PowerPuff girls video and An American Tail video-$1 each
a Wendy doll for Lily and a Spud doll for Seth (from Bob the Builder) - .25 each
a framed Aladdin picture (which, sadly, the glass got broken that night) - .50
See what good deals? I also bought a bike for me for $5...but it needs some serious work. I bought a couple of shirts too...I was in bargain heaven.
I had a really good time though...it's been...how many years since we hung out with Zora?? I have no idea, but I know its been a really long time. Lily made a "friend" at the Salvation Army thrift store. A cute little girl about a year older than Lily. They were holding hands and playing hide and seek...it amazes me how quickly kids can take to each other. Too bad adults couldn't be that nice to each other too!
Sat. night, we took the kids to Mom's and Jessie and I went OUT! We played a round of putt-putt golf (which I won! Yay! it'll probably be the only time that ever happens) and ate at Ryan's (where I cheated mercilessly on my diet...but oh it was good). We went to Sam's and walked around aimlessly, then went to the mall and walked around aimlessly some more...we did get Slushies at the mall and Jessie bought a used Mat Hoffman bike game for his Playstation...so we were contented and happy when we picked up the kids from Mom's.
Sunday was church day...Seth and Lily both went into the 1st grade class and had a ball...they made biscuits and sang songs. I was recruited to be a "helper" at the kids Easter party in April...well, I was going to be there anyway...After church we went to the park again...and I tell you, we are getting more than a little sun...my face was very reddish this morning and Seth is turning his usual deep brown. I guess its time to invest in some sunblock. Sunday night, it was back to church for choir practice...where I fully switched to soprano and had to try to hit some very high notes...eeeh. I tried. :) I kept the nursery during the sermon and basically colored the whole time with this sweet little boy named Mark while my kids ran around the room and acted like heathens! And Sunday night bedtime came all too soon...So here I am! I hope everyone has a good day and week.

You write so beautifully. No wonder you were an English major :) Your blogs are always put together so well and so interesting. I'm glad your weekend went good!
Thanks! That's so sweet! You put a smile on my face. :)
Yes she does doesn't she?? My blogs are a mess! ha ha! Sounds like a very lovely weekend. Good for you! Who knows- you might just get a tan this summer! (hey, there's nothing wrong with wishful thinking!) I'm really wanting one myself. and by golly, I'm gonna try!
Thanks Amberino...you know, I went to the bathroom a few minutes ago and looked in the mirror...and it looked like I'd gotten one of those sunglasses-tans...you know, when you wear sunglasses outside...like it goes around my eyes...very strange, b/c I don't even wear sunglasses!! No fair!
were you wearing your glasses?
Your blogs do flow very well!
And I LOVE yard sales too! Me and my mom and the girls went Saturday. Then we went to a kids consignment sale in Tupelo. There will be another one in Red Bay starting the 31st of March I believe. If you're interested I can send you the info! They usually have really good buys there! (If you need clothes for the kids)
And I've gotta find our sunscreen too!
No, I wasn't wearing my glasses ???I don't know what the problem is with my weird face.
Thanks Kelly! Sure, I love buying kids clothes. My kiddos do need some summer clothes, mainly shorts. The seasons change so fast I can't seem to keep their wardrobes updated!
Kelly, where do y'all go to sales at around here??
You mean yard sales? We usually just drive around Fulton looking for signs and then go to either Tupelo or Amory and go to theirs. If you go to Tupelo...it's good to look in the Journal for Yard Sales. If you go to Amory...get a Monroe Shopper. There's lots in there! I'm gonna look for my paper on that consignment sale and I'll let you know Andrea.
